I started in the business as an apprentice motor mechanic with a main dealer in 1967. After 6 years I moved into the parts department and worked for various companies, also in their parts departments. Then, after living and working my way around Australia for nearly 2 years, I returned to the UK in 1976 and worked for 20 years in the car hire industry. I was then unfortunately made redundant at the end of 1995. Shortly after that, I started with Southern Classics as office manager, responsible for bookkeeping, customer invoicing and payroll etc., and helping Steve to run a ‘tight ship’. I really get a ‘buzz’ from seeing cars coming into us, often in quite a bad condition, then seeing the owners’ faces as their cars leave us in perfect condition. My hobbies include: aviation, photography, radio monitoring and computing.
